    North Carolina has been selected as the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference preseason favorite in a vote of the league's 12 head coaches the conference office announced Friday. The Tar Heels have been named the preseason favorite four times in the last six years.

    The No. 8 North Carolina women's tennis team will welcome VCU, Brown and Marshall to the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center Saturday and Sunday for the 2012 ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The event, which features 60 teams nationally at 15 different sites, will determine this year's qualifiers for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships to be held Feb. 10-13 in Charlottesville, Va.
