Carolina baseball coach Mike Fox and Jones Angell will put a wrap on the successful 2008 season Monday with the final edition of the Mike Fox Show, which will air live from Tyler's Restaurant and Taproom in Carrboro at 7 p.m. The show will be carried by AM-1360 WCHL in the Chapel Hill area, and a podcast of the show will be available later this week on TarHeelBlue.com. more |

Even before the first ball was struck last Thursday at the 20th edition of the Carolina Kids Classic at UNC Finley, the event had already raised a record total of $216,000 for the Chapel Hill Ronald McDonald House, the UNC Children's Hospital, and the Childhood Trust. A full field of 33 foursomes (132 golfers)--including Dean Smith, Bill Guthridge, Roy Williams and Butch Davis--took part on a perfect summer Chapel Hill day. more |

In the wake of Jason Ray's tragic death in the spring of 2007, Ray's family requested donations instead of flowers. His parents knew he'd been involved with numerous causes before his death and wanted to be able to contribute to those groups after he was gone. This week, the first steps will be taken to make that a reality. more |

After last night's College World Series-opening win over LSU, the Diamond Heels got back to work this morning with a crisp practice at Boys Town. Carolina worked out for about two hours and will spend the afternoon at a barbeque hosted by the Exchange Club, the Tar Heels' host for their stay in Omaha. more |

Chapel Hill, N.C., home of the University of North Carolina, has been named one of 20 finalists in ESPN's Titletown, USA, competition. A new finalist is unveiled each day on ESPN.com. Thus far, Chapel Hill is in the running with Columbus, Ohio, Los Angeles, Boston, Williamsport, Pa., Detroit, Gainesville, Fla., Green Bay, Wis. and Louisville, Ky. more |

After a hearty sendoff by the Carolina faithful, the Tar Heels had a safe and uneventful trip to Omaha and arrived at the Regency Lodge Thursday evening. The travel party was greeted by several UNC fans, a Carolina Blue-clad hotel staff and their gracious hosts for the week, the Exchange Club. more |

Fans will have a chance to greet the Carolina baseball team as it heads off to the College World Series for the third straight year Thursday.
Fans should gather outside Kenan Stadium gate 10 (behind the old fieldhouse) at 2 p.m., and the team will meet and greet fans as they load the bus. Pay parking will be available in the Ramshead deck. more |

The Diamond Heels defeated the Chanticleers 14-4 in Cary at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Adam Warren pitched six strong shutout innings allowing only two hits.
