General: A returning letter winner who swims sprint freestyle for Carolina...returns to the Tar Heels' competition squad after redshirting last season...will continue to be add tremendous depth to the freestyle corps and on relay teams.

2006-07 (Freshman): Swam as an exhibition entry at the ACC Championships in the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyle events and the 100-yard backstroke...finished with a career best 1:47.50 in the 200 free...had career bests of 21.49 in the 50 and 47.05 in the 100...competed at the Nike Cup in the same three freestyle events...also anchored the fourth place 200-yard medley and fifth place 400-yard medley relays at Nike Cup...named to 2006-07 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Graduated from Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 20, 2006...swam there for four years as a freestyle sprinter....two-time high school All-America honoree...MVP of team as a senior...four-time All-First Coast Team selection...swim team captain as a senior...winner of multiple individual district and regional titles...also an accomplished soccer player...played three years of high school soccer as a defender and midfielder...was elected captain of the team as senior...All-First Coast and All-State selections...played 13 years of club soccer...once helped lead his club team to second place in the state tournament...member of National Honor Society...nominated for Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
