    ACC Men's Swimming Championship Gets Underway Wednesday

    The 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Swimming Championship begins Wednesday, Feb. 22 and continues through Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center in Christiansburg, Va. A live video stream of event finals will be available on theACC.com Thursday through Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

    Stephanie Peacock of the UNC women's swimming team has been named the Tar Heel Performer of the Week for February 13-19, 2012 after she was named the Most Valuable Swimmer at the 2012 ACC Championships, the first UNC swimmer to win the award since Chrissy Miller in 1998.

    Sophomore Stephanie Peacock set an ACC record in the 1650-yard freestyle and captured Most Valuable Swimmer honors Saturday night as the 2012 ACC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships concluded at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center. UNC finished second in the 11-team field as Peacock became the first Tar Heel to win the MVP award at the meet since Chrissy Miller won it in 1998.

    Carolina's women's swimming team got an impressive 400-yard medley relay victory and an individual title in the 200-yard freestyle from Stephanie Peacock on the third day of the 2011 ACC Women's Swimming Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center.

    The University of North Carolina women's swimming and diving team, led by an ACC title in the 500 free by Stephanie Peacock and a third-place finish by Cari Blalock in the 200 IM, stands in second place Thursday after the second day of the 2012 ACC Women's Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center.
