    AUSTIN, Texas - Freshman Walter Henning opened his 2008 outdoor season with a second place showing in Austin, Texas at the Texas Relays. Henning tossed the hammer 221-04 for the second best mark in school history along with a regional qualifying mark. Several other Tar Heels will be in action this weekend with athletes competing at the Duke Invitational, the Texas Relays and the Murray Neely Invitational hosted by NC A&T.

    Henning fell just over a foot shy of first place in his first action of the outdoor season. UCLA's Boldizsar Kocsor took the top spot with a throw of 222-05 for the win. Henning closed strong picking up his top mark in his sixth and final throw of the day.
