    NCAA East Regionals - Final Results
    The men's 4x400 team of freshmen Sean Sutton, Javonte Lipsey, O'Neal Wanliss and junior Clayton Parros punched their ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships Saturday on the final day of the NCAA East Regional Championships. The relay squad and five previous qualifiers make for seven competitors in six events the Tar Heels will send to the national meet next month.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Four more Tar Heels advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships after the second day of the NCAA East Regional meet Friday. Senior Tasha Stanley, junior Clayton Parros, sophomore Sandi Morris and freshman Javonte Lipsey will all join junior Chrishawn Williams, who qualified Thursday, at the national meet next month.

    Junior Chrishawn Williams led UNC on the first day of the NCAA East Regional Championships, where 24 Tar Heels and one relay will compete through Saturday to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships next month. Williams was the first from Carolina to secure a spot at the 2012 NCAA Championships, while eight will move on the the quartefinals of their events on Saturday.

    North Carolina will send 24 student-athletes and one relay to the 2012 NCAA East Regional Track and Field Championships this week with the goal of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships next month. The preliminary round will be held in Jacksonville, Fla., at the University of North Florida, May 24-26.

    North Carolina saw more personal-best results Sunday at the Wolfpack Last Chance meet, making for a successful weekend of last-chance qualifying meets for the Tar Heels. With the improved marks from this weekend, UNC hopes to improve on individual NCAA rankings and qualify additional athletes for the NCAA East Regional Championships May 24-26.
