    Four Tar Heels Named To All-ACC Academic Team

    Four members of the UNC cross country team were named to the 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Cross Country Team. Senior Adam Cunningham and sophomore Isaac Presson were named to the men's team, and junior Mariana Lucena and sophomore Lianne Farber were named to the women's team.

    Former Tar Heel standout Shalane Flanagan set an Olympic Trials record in qualifiying for the 2012 Olympic Games Saturday. Running in just her second marathon ever, Flanagan bettered the Trials record and her own best time by nearly three minutes.

    2012 U.S. Olympic Team Marathon Trials Home
    Three former standout Tar Heel runners, including a current volunteer coach, will be competing this Saturday at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Marathon Trials in Houston. Addie Bracy, Shalane Flanagan and Blake Russell will be competing against nearly 200 women for three team spots to represent the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games.

    Flanagan Wins Miami Half Marathon In Record Time

    Former Tar Heel Shalane Flangan set a new Florida state record as she ran the fastest women's half-marathon earlier this month. The Olympian and American Record holder won the women's Dodge Latin Music Miami Beach Half Marathon in 1:09:58 and took fourth overall.
