Sophomore (2010)
Made 15 appearances with seven starts on the year • Posted a 3-3 record with a 4.59 ERA • Threw 33 1/3 innings on the season • His seven starts ranked fourth on the team • Struck out 35 and walked 24 • In ACC play made six appearances out of the bullpen posting a 0-1 mark with a save • Opened the year with a win in his first start against UNC Greensboro Feb. 23 • Threw five one-run innings and struck out a career-high six batters in the win over Princeton March 16 • Struck out five and did not allow a hit in 2 2/3 innings of relief against Richmond March 31 to earn the win • Went four consecutive outings without allowing a hit from April 11-25 • Earned his first career save versus NC State April 11 by getting the final out of the 9-6 win. Summer 2010: Appeared in nine games with one start for the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod League, allowing nine runs over 8 1/3 innings • Did not earn a decision.
Redshirt Freshman (2009)
Made nine appearances after recovering from "Tommy John" surgery in March 2008 • Posted a 4.50 ERA, struck out six and walked nine in eight innings • Struck out two in a scoreless inning in first outing since surgery March 4 against Gardner-Webb • Followed with scoreless outings of at least one inning versus Appalachian State, Princeton and No. 8 Virginia in March • Made lone start of the season April 1 against Old Dominion and allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings • Final appearance of the season came May 7 against Longwood. Summer 2009: Pitched in nine games for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod League, allowing five runs over 8 2/3 innings • Struck out four and walked eight.
Freshman (2008)
Redshirt season • Pitched in two games before undergoing season-ending "Tommy John" elbow surgery in March • Worked 4 2/3 shutout innings with seven strikeouts and four walks • Struck out the side in a scoreless inning of relief at Winthrop Feb. 28 • Went 3 2/3 and fanned four in first career start against St. John's March 2.

Aycock High School for coach Charles Davis • Won North Carolina 3A Player of the Year honors and led Aycock to the state title as a senior • Rated the state's No. 13 prospect by Impact Baseball • Named Goldsboro News Argus Pitcher of the Year in 2006 and Player of the Year in 2007 • Participated in the North Carolina-South Carolina Challenge and the North Carolina East-West all-star game • Also played soccer.

Garrett Winston Davis is the son of Gary and Cindy Davis • Born Dec. 7, 1988, in Goldsboro, N.C. • Has an older sister, Jill • Cousin, Rob Wooten, was a four-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels from 2005-08 and is currently in the Milwaukee Brewers' organization • Majoring in exercise and sport science at Carolina.
