Played first base and DH Ranked third on the team with nine home runs Knocked in 44 runs, fifth most on the team Was sensational in three games at UCLA Feb. 18-20 and was named ACC Player of the Week on Feb. 21 Finished the series 5-for-10 with nine RBIs and two home runs Helped propel the Tar Heels to an improbable 13-run ninth inning on Feb. 18 in the wild 17-13 comeback win against the Bruins Entered the game in the sixth inning as a pinch hitter and was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and he scored twice Singled in the eighth inning and then hit both a two-run home run and a two-run double in the ninth that put UNC ahead for good with its 14th and 15th runs of the game Hit his second homer of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth, the next day in batting 2-for-4 Went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs in the 11-8 win over Western Carolina on March 7 Was 5-for-12 (.417) in the NC State series, including three home runs, with six RBIs and four runs scored Sparked Carolinas seven-run seventh inning on March 24 with a three-run homer and provided the offense in Carolinas 4-1 win (March 26) over the Wolfpack with two home runs in the game Trailing 1-0 in the fifth, Farrell hit a solo home run and then added a two-run shot in the seventh to put UNC ahead for good Was named ACC Player of the Week (March 27) for the second time after that big weekend Was 3-for-5 (.600), including two doubles and a home run, in the NCAA Tournament (May 27-29) Made his only start of the season in left field on the final game of the year. Summer 2000: An all-star for the Edenton Steamers Batted .236 with five home runs and 26 RBIs.
