    AS A JUNIOR (2005)
    Made a team-high 27 appearances out of the bullpen, posting a 5-4 record and five saves • Recorded a 2.51 earned run average, which ranked fifth in the ACC • Worked 61 innings and struck out 64 batters against just 18 walks for a 3.6 strikeout-to-walk ratio • Held opponents to a .241 average • Ranked second in the ACC with 9.44 strikeouts per nine innings • Was also eighth in the league in saves, ninth in opponent batting average and 10th in appearances • Recorded four or more strikeouts on seven occasions • First save of the season came with two shutout innings at Clemson March 18 • Followed with three no-hit innings and five strikeouts versus Wake Forest March 25 for his second save • Third and fourth saves came in shutout appearances against Maryland and Duke and added his fifth save in the Georgia Tech series • Struck out a career-high six batters in 2.1 scoreless innings at Florida State May 25 • Did not allow a hit and fanned four in 4.1 innings versus Birmingham Southern Feb. 26 • Also struck out four and earned a win against Virginia April 1 • Added wins against Seton Hall, UNC Wilmington and VCU • Member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll and earned Dean's List status in the fall semester. Summer 2005: Pitched for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League • Made a team-high 16 appearances and was 0-3 with eight saves • Posted a 1.52 ERA and struck out 20 in 29.2 innings.

    AS A SOPHOMORE (2004)
    One of the Tar Heels' top middle relievers • Was 3-0 with a 2.75 earned run average in 22 appearances out of the bullpen • Tossed 39.1 innings and recorded 32 strikeouts against just nine walks • Held opponents to a .252 batting average • Led the pitching staff with four pickoffs • Earned his first win of the season with two shutout innings against Appalachian State on March 2 • Also got the win with 3.2 shutout innings versus St. Francis (N.Y.) on March 6 • Picked up his final victory of the year with a pair of shutout innings against Charlotte on April 7 • Worked a season-high 3.2 innings against both St. Francis (N.Y) and South Carolina • Did not allow an earned run and tied a season-best with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings versus the Gamecocks on May 11 • Also fanned four against High Point on March 10. Summer 2004: Played with the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League • Was 3-1 on the mound with a 1.13 ERA on the mound and also batted .264 with five runs batted in.

    AS A FRESHMAN (2003)
    Went 2-1 in 19 appearances, including one start • Posted 25 strikeouts in 32.2 innings • In his longest appearance of the season, went 4.1 innings against Auburn on March 8 and allowed no runs on four hits • Also tossed four scoreless innings against Monmouth on March 15 • Worked 1.1 shutout innings against Mississippi State in the NCAA Regional on June 1 • Struck out a career-high four batters against East Carolina on April 23 • Made his lone start of the season against Georgia Tech on April 6. Summer 2003: Pitched for the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League.

    Played four years of baseball and football • Three-time all-conference baseball player and named all-state as a junior and senior • Named all-conference in football four straight years as a punter and kicker • Southwest 3A conference baseball player of the year as a junior • Big South conference player of the year as a senior • A member of the National Honor Society and Summa Cum Laude graduate.
