    Redshirt season • Did not see any game action for the Tar Heels. Summer 2009: Played in 24 games and made 21 starts for the Southern Ohio Copperheads of the Great Lakes League • Hit .232 (16-69) with six runs, four doubles, one home run and 10 RBI.

    Four-year catcher for coach Kevin Ferrel at South Granville High School • Named Conference MVP as a sophomore and as a junior • Selected team MVP as a junior and Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and senior • South Granville's Defensive MVP as a freshman • Under Armour All-America as a junior and also named Perfect Game All-Region and All-America • Broke the single-season and career home run and RBI records at South Granville.
