    Anchors the back end of one of the top bullpens in the country • Named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List.

    Sophomore (2011)
    Made the second-most appearances on the team with 32 • Made six starts before moving into the closer's role • Posted 10 saves, the most for a Tar Heel since Andrew Carignan recorded a school-record 18 in 2007 • His 10 saves rank tied for sixth in school single season history • Finished fourth in the ACC with six saves during the ACC season • Threw 64.0 innings on the year allowing 33 earned runs (4.64 ERA) • Struck out 66 batters, while issuing just 18 walks • Retired 20 of the 27 first batters he faced (.741 percent) the best mark on the squad • Began the year as Carolina's Sunday starter making a career-long 5.2 inning start at Southern California (2/20) • Followed that start by striking out a career-high nine batters against Seton Hall (2/27) • After suffering an ankle injury at Virginia Tech (3/20) moved to the bullpen where he allowed just one run over his next four appearances • Registered a pair of saves in the series win at Florida State • Went 1-0 with four saves over five scoreless appearances from April 27-May 13 • Posted a 0.70 ERA to close out the year by allowing just one run over 11.2 innings in his final nine appearances.

Summer 2010: Made seven starts and one relief appearance for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League • Posted a 3.29 ERA with a 1-3 record • Struck out 38 and walked 12 in 38.1 innings of work.
