Sophomore (2011)
Appeared in 22 games and posted a 1-0 mark with five saves • Threw 16 innings of relief registering a 5.62 ERA • Struck out 18 batters, while walking nine • His five saves ranked second on the team • Opened the year by not allowing a run in his first seven appearances, a stretch of 6.2 innings • Closed out three straight to start the season for a save each time • Did not allow a hit at Cal State Fullerton (2/19) or at USC (2/20) to earn a save • Struck out a season-high three batters in a 1.1 inning save against Duke (3/25) • Needed just one out to pick up the win against Clemson (4/3).
Summer 2011: Pitched in 10 games for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League • Threw 12.2 innings allowing just three earned runs (2.13 ERA) • Struck out 15 batters and walked five.
Freshman (2010)
Appeared in eight games tossing 9 innings on the year • Posted a 1-0 record and a 4.00 ERA • Struck out 10 and walked eight • Made two appearances during the ACC season • Threw a third of an inning in his collegiate debut against UNC Greensboro Feb. 23 • Struck out three in an inning of work at Duke March 12 • Struck out a season-high four batters in his longest outing of the year (3 innings) versus Winthrop March 30 • Threw an inning of relief against Oral Roberts in the NCAA Tournament June 6. Summer 2010: Made eight appearances, including four starts for the Thomasville HiToms of the Coastal Plain League • Went 2 2/3 innings with a 4.88 ERA in 31 1/3 innings of action • Struck out 33 and walked 14.
