DALLAS, TEX. - North Carolina received its sixth top 25 ranking Monday, rated No. 13 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writes Association. The Tar Heels, coming off a 48-18 season a year ago and their fourth-straight trip to the College World Series, have ranked in the top 25 in every preseason 2010 poll.

Carolina earned its highest ranking, No. 11, in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll last week. The Tar Heels other ratings include: No. 13 (Collegiate Baseball), No. 20 (Baseball America), No. 20 (Rivals.com) and No. 23 (PING! Baseball).

North Carolina, picked to finish third in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference by the league's 12 head coaches, is one of six ACC teams in the NCWBA top 14. The ACC teams of Virginia, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami and Clemson were ranked in nearly every 2010 preseason poll.

The Tar Heels open the 2010 season Feb. 19 at Boshamer Stadium, hosting George Washington University.
