  • CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Redshirt freshman quarterback Bryn Renner caught up with tarheelblue.com Monday to discuss his plans to play baseball this spring for the Diamond Heels. The West Springfield, Va., product joined the Diamond Heels in January after the conclusion of the football season. Renner projects to play first base or in the outfield, and could also see time at designated hitter.

The freshman discusses what went into his decision to play both sports and challenges that will present itself as Carolina opens spring practice in March. The 2010 baseball team will open play this Friday at 3 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium against George Washington.
