CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina added to its crop of incoming freshmen this month when it signed Overland Park, Kan., right-hander Michael Morin to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Mike Fox announced Thursday.

Morin, who played for coach Mitch Wiles at Shawnee Mission South High School, was selected in the 40th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft after a standout senior season. In 2009, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound Morin went 7-1 with one save in 11 appearances. He posted a 1.06 ERA over 59 2/3 innings, while striking out 92 and walking 15.
