    The North Carolina Tar Heels braved the elements to hold a seven-and-a-half inning scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The home Heel squad took a 6-5 win after scoring the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh.

    The North Carolina Tar Heels moved up their Saturday scrimmage to 11:15 a.m. due to threatening weather and managed to complete an eight-inning scrimmage that the visiting Tar squad won by an 8-3 score.

    Individual tickets for the 2012 Diamond Heel season go on sale Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. The Tar Heels will open their 2012 home campaign on Feb. 17 when they host Xavier with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.

    Morin Named To NCBWA Stopper Of The Year List

    Junior right-handed pitcher Michael Morin was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Watch List on Tuesday. Morin made 32 appearances a year ago for the Tar Heels and registered 10 saves to lead the team.
