Late Night Begins Early On Oct. 13
Sept. 21, 2006 Carolina's annual kickoff to the basketball season, Late Night with Roy Williams, will start a little earlier this season. An NCAA rules change means teams can begin practicing before midnight. Doors will open for Late Night at 6 p.m. on October 13, and basketball action will be underway by 7 p.m. Seating is general admission. ESPN personality (and Carolina alum) Stuart Scott will host the festivities, which will be televised on ESPNU. More details will be available about Late Night in the coming weeks. Make plans now to make a weekend of it in Chapel Hill, as fans can attend Late Night on Friday and the football game against South Florida on Saturday. Carolina's baseball team, which is coming off a College World Series appearance, will also play Game 3 of their Fall World Series on Saturday. Game times for football and baseball are TBA. Also, Late Night is the perfect opportunity to buy your tickets for the first opportunities to see the highly anticipated 2006-07 team against outside competition. The UNC ticket office will be open from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 13 selling tickets for Carolina's two exhibition games. The Tar Heels will host St. Augustine's on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Their second and final exhibition will be on Saturday, Nov. 11, against Pfeiffer at a time that will depend on the scheduled times of that day's homecoming football game against Georgia Tech.
