2001 Senior Season
Started every game and finished fifth on the squad in tackles with 67, including 40 solo hits and 27 assists Had one tackle for loss and seven pass break ups Made at least five tackles in eight of 12 regular-season games Had five tackles vs. Auburn in the Peach Bowl Started the season with seven tackles at Oklahoma Returned the next week at Maryland with four tackles and one tackle for loss Had a season-high 11 tackles at Georgia Tech Played his best game of the season in the season-finale vs. SMU with eight tackles (4 solo, 4 assists) and a season-high three pass breakups.
2000 Junior Season
Started the first three games of the season at safety Played in eight games Made 40 tackles, including 12 solo stops and 28 assists Had a team-high 14 tackles in Carolinas season-opening 30-9 victory over Tulsa and earned the ACCs Defensive Back Player of the Week Award Recorded double-digit tackles with 11 at Florida State Had eight tackles, including a season-high five solo hits vs. Georgia Tech Also played on special teams.
1999 Sophomore Season
Named co-captain and co-Most Valuable Defensive Player Started every game at free safety and led the Tar Heels with 118 tackles That is the highest number of tackles by a UNC defensive back since tackles were first recorded here in 1978 The previous high was 109 by safety Barry James in 1984 Greenwood is the first Tar Heel defensive back to have 100 tackles in a season since Bracey Walker had 100 in 1993 Finished sixth in the ACC in tackles per game with 10.7 That was third in the league among defensive backs (behind Clemsons Robert Carswell and NC States Brian Williams, also free safeties) He broke up seven passes No other player among the ACCs top 25 tacklers had as many pass breakups as did Greenwood Recorded 10 or more tackles in six of the 11 games with a career high of 19 against Furman Had 14 primary stops against the Paladins Also was in double-figure tackles against Virginia (10), Georgia Tech (13), Houston (16), Maryland (15) and Wake Forest (15) Was sensational against the Cavaliers In addition to 10 tackles, he broke up three passes and intercepted one Played 771 snaps, the second-highest total on the team.
1998 Freshman Season
Played in all 11 regular-season games and the Las Vegas Bowl Saw action on 654 plays Started at safety against Duke and NC State and played a season-high 84 and 83 plays, respectively, in those contests Played 70 snaps against San Diego State in the bowl game. Had 78 tackles, including 33 primary stops Broke up passes against Wake Forest, Virginia, Duke and NC State. Recovered a fumble against Pittsburgh Had a season-high 15 tackles at Duke and 13 at Stanford Had nine tackles against NC State and eight against both Florida State and Virginia Made seven tackles in the Las Vegas Bowl Was limited early in the season because of a sprained ankle suffered in the season opener Was redshirted in 1997.
