Joined the team as a walk-on prior to the 2007 season but did not play in a game his first two years.
Smoky Mountain High School
Played for coach Dale Galloway at Smoky Mountain High School • Was the Western North Carolina special teams player of the year • Averaged 39 yards per punt as a senior and made 6 of 11 field goals and 18 of 19 extra point attempts • Earned all-conference honors at punter • Played soccer, baseball and swam in high school • Was All-Western North Carolina two years in soccer.
