Chapel Hill, N.C. ------ The deadline to purchase 2009 North Carolina season football tickets is May 1. Tickets are now on sale at TarHeelBlue.com at the same price as last year. The Tar Heels schedule includes the first Thursday night home game in school history against Florida State on Oct. 22. Last season, Carolina sold out of season football tickets and expects to do so again in 2009.
Season ticket renewals and new season tickets are available for $315 each, the same price as 2008.
The 2009 home schedule includes games against The Citadel (Sept. 5), East Carolina (Sept. 12), Virginia (Oct. 3), Georgia Southern (Oct. 10), Florida State (Oct. 22), Duke (Nov. 7) and Miami (Nov. 14).
Tickets can be ordered by logging on to TarHeelBlue.com or by calling the UNC Ticket Office at 1-800-722-HEEL (4335).
Since the start of the 2007 season, Carolina has sold out 12 of its 13 home games.
