    Sept. 5, 2002

Each year North Carolina is among the college football leaders in former players who are featured on NFL teams. The six Tar Heel players selected in the 2002 NFL Draft was more than any other ACC school. 2002 UNC Draftees include the second-overall pick Julius Peppers (Carolina Panthers) and the sixth-overall pick Ryan Sims (Kansas City Chiefs).

Other current NFL players include Dre' Bly (St. Louis Rams), Greg Ellis (Dallas Cowboys), Leon Johnson (Chicago Bears), Na Brown (Philadelphia Eagles) and first-year players David Thornton (Indianapolis Colts), Quincy Monk (NY Giants) and the previously mentioned Peppers and Sims.

Every Monday afternoon during the season, TarHeelBlue.com will give an update about the performance of the former North Carolina players. A list of all 28 former UNC players in the NFL is located at the bottom of the page with links to their player bios featured on NFL.com.
