    Hakeem Nicks scored his first career touchdown on a spectacular run after catch for 54 yards in the Giants 27-16 rout over the Chiefs. Nicks returned this week after spraining his foot in week one. Three Tar Heels were idle this week as their respective teams were in a bye week.

    Sam Aiken, New England- Starting wide out pulled down one reception for 26 yards as the Patriots dealt the Baltimore Ravens their first loss of the year 27-21.

    Ethan Albright, Washington- 38-year-old deep snapper helped the Redskins knock through a 42-yard field goal that proved to be the difference, as Washington outdueled winless Tampa Bay 16-13.

    Kentwan Balmer, San Francisco- Second year defensive tackle helped the 49ers defense shutout the St. Louis Rams 35-0.

    Dre’ Bly, San Francisco- Veteran defensive back recorded one fumble recovery as the 49ers rolled 35-0 over the Rams.

    Jason Brown, St Louis- Starting center anchored the Rams’ offensive line despite a lackluster offensive day overall, as St. Louis fell 35-0 to the San Francisco.

    Alge Crumpler, Tennessee- Ninth-year tight end had three catches for 23 yards in a 37-17 losing effort at Jacksonville.

    Greg Ellis, Oakland- Starting defensive end posted two tackles and one sack as the Raiders fell to the Texans 29-6.

    Brooks Foster, St Louis- Rookie wide receiver, who was the Rams’ fifth-round pick this year, is on injured reserve after ankle surgery.

    Madison Hedgecock, New York Giants- Fullback pulled in one catch for nine yards, helping the Giants remained undefeated with their 27-16 victory over the Chiefs.


     

     

    Jesse Holley, Dallas- Wide receiver is listed on the Cowboys’ practice squad.

    Vonnie Holliday, Denver- Veteran defensive end posted one sack as the Broncos reeled off 17 unanswered to beat the Cowboys 17-10.

    Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants- Rookie wide receiver, the Giants’ first round pick, recorded a breakaway 54-yard touchdown reception, the first of his NFL career, as the Giants rolled 27-16 over Kansas City.

    Willie Parker, Pittsburgh- Sixth-year running back was listed on the inactive list Sunday.

    Julius Peppers, Carolina - Panthers were in a bye this week. 

    Richard Quinn, Denver- Tight end, who was selected by the Broncos in the second round of the 2009 draft, saw action in his first game, a 17-10 win over Dallas.

    Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh- Veteran kicker punched through one field goal from 46 yards and converted five extra points as the Steelers held off a late Chargers’ rally to win 38-28.

    Garrett Reynolds, Atlanta - Reynolds enjoyed his bye week back in Chapel Hill this weekend.

    Jeff Saturday, Indianapolis - Three-time Pro Bowl center anchored an offensive line that allowed Peyton Manning and the Colts to throw for 353 yards as Indianapolis doubled up Seattle 34-17.

    Gerald Sensabaugh, Dallas- Safety recorded one tackle at Denver as the Cowboys fell to 2-2 on the season.

    Ryan Sims, Tampa Bay- Starting defensive tackle posted five tackles in a 16-13 losing effort to the Redskins.

    Brandon Tate, New England- Rookie wide receiver, the Patriots’ third-round pick, is listed as active but is on the non-football injury list.

    Hilee Taylor, Carolina - Taylor and the Panthers in a bye this past week.

    David Thornton, Tennessee- Starting left side linebacker was the Titans second-leading tackler with 5 tackles and 2 assists, as the defending AFC South Champions fell to 0-4 on the year.

    Greg Warren, Pittsburgh- Deep snapper helped fellow former Tar Heel convert one field goal and five PATs in a 38-28 victory over San Diego.

    Wallace Wright, New York Jets- Veteran special teams ace saw action as the Jets dropped their first game of the year 24-10 to New Orleans.
