    Former North Carolina standout Hakeem Nicks posted a game-high 10 catches for 109 yards to help lead New York to a 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI. On the final scoring drive of the game, Nicks had two critical catches, including a first down at the Patriots' 7-yard line.

    Larry Fedora announced Wednesday his first signing class as head coach at North Carolina. The class includes 21 student-athletes that signed national letters of intent Wednesday and two players who have been enrolled at Carolina since January. The class includes two quarterbacks, four wide receivers, four offensive linemen, three defensive ends, four linebackers, one bandit, two cornerbacks, two safeties and one tight end.

    Coples In All-Star Football Challenge

    University of North Carolina's Quinton Coples will participate in the 14th annual All-Star Football Challenge, an exciting, live skills competition featuring college football's brightest stars. The program is scheduled to air Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and will have encore airings at 4:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 12 and Feb. 26 on ESPN.

    Senior Bowl Selects Four Tar Heels

    North Carolina will send an ACC-best four players to the 2012 Senior Bowl. Defensive end Quinton Coples, defensive tackle Tydreke Powell, linebacker Zach Brown and wide receiver Dwight Jones have all officially accepted invites to the 2012 game, it was announced Sunday. The senior showcase event is set for 3pm (CT) on Saturday, January 28th in Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game and all practices will be televised by NFL Network.
