Petracca & DiPietro Set To Play In North-South Game

BALTIMORE, MD. - The 2010 Lax World/USILA North/South games will be held on Friday, May 28 at Goucher College in Towson, Md. Two Tar Heels, senior attackman Gavin Petracca and senior midfielder Cryder DiPietro, will represent the University of North Carolina on the Division I/II South Team. The Division III game will start at 3 p.m. at Beldon Field, while the Division I/II contest begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available on site for $5 each on game day only. Petracca was UNC's leading scorer in 2010 with 25 goals and 23 assists for 48 points. He finished his career tied for 11th in career assists at Carolina with 63. He also had 157 career points and 94 career goals. DiPietro had his most productive year as a Tar Heel in 2010 when he finished with 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists. The North/South game began in 1940, when Baltimore hosted the inaugural game, and has been the site for 22 North/South contests, including the first seven games. The last time the North/South game was held in Baltimore was 2007 at Calvert Hall. "The USILA is excited to renew its partnership with Lax World, which is considered the premier supplier of lacrosse equipment and uniforms in the country," said USILA President Richard Wanninger. "We are proud to have them provide the uniforms for each of the players who will be competing in their final collegiate game in one of the most celebrated events in the sport of men's intercollegiate lacrosse." "It's great to be back working with the USILA to help them continue putting on one of the great events in college lacrosse, "said Lax World's A.T. Bailey. "It's a special game for the seniors and we are very proud to be a part of it. We look forward to providing the uniforms for the event as well as have an on-site presence at Goucher College. With such a high level of lacrosse talent spread throughout Division 1, 2, and 3 programs it's bound to be a great weekend of lacrosse."
