    CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Head coach John Haus of the University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team on Friday has announced a nine-man recruiting class that will join the Tar Heel program as freshmen in the fall of 2007. These prospective student-athletes plan to enroll at the University in August 2007. It is highlighted by five defensive recruits, an area in which the 2008 Tar Heels need to build more depth, as well as one attackman, two midfielders and a goalkeeper. Carolina lost four seniors off its 2007 41-man roster -- defensive middies Ben Staines and David Ryan, middie Tom Sciolla and attackman Sam Wagner.

    The following prospective student-athletes comprise the incoming UNC Class of 2011.

    Billy Bitter, Manhasset, N.Y., 6-0, 170 pounds, Manhasset High School (`06), Deerfield Academy (`07)
    Attackman for lacrosse team; also played center forward on soccer team.
