R.G. Keenan, Marcus Holman, Jimmy Bitter and Ryan Creighton from the University of North Carolina men's lacrosse have been named to the 2012 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America Teams. The teams were announced Thursday by the USILA's All-America committee and are chosen by the vote of NCAA Division I head coaches.

Senior attackman Thomas Wood of Dallas, Texas and senior defenseman Charlie McComas of Parkton, Md., end their collegiate careers Friday as they have been chosen to represent the South Team in the 71st annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/LAXWORLD North-South Classic.

Eight of the 13 members of the University of North Carolina's men's recruiting class of the high school seniors graduating in 2012 were named Wednesday to the Under Armour High School Lacrosse All-America Team.

Led by Mark Matthews and Jeremy Noble, 2011 NCAA Tournament semifinalist Denver began another run for a Final Four bid, outlasting eighth-seeded North Carolina 16-14 Saturday night before 1,344 fans at Fetzer Field. The Pioneers improved to 9-6 on the season while the Tar Heels' season ends at 11-6.

North Carolina will play host to 2011 NCAA Tournament semifinalist Denver at Fetzer Field Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Bill Tierney's Pioneers head to Chapel Hill Saturday with a record of 8-6 while Joe Breschi brings his Tar Heels in with a record of 11-5.
