CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After recording North Carolina's first hat trick in nearly four years last week, sophomore forward Alex Dixon was honored with a spot on national teams of the week from College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer Monday.

The Humble, Texas, product scored all three goals in the span of seven minutes to highlight the Tar Heels' 7-0 romp over Stetson Wednesday, Oct. 28. He took feeds from Kirk Urso to score in the 40th and 45th minutes to lift UNC to a three-goal lead at intermission and followed with an unassisted strike in the 47th minute early in the second half. The hat trick was the first for UNC since Scott Campbell scored three goals against Boston College in 2005.

Dixon is now one of four Tar Heels to share the team lead with five goals on the season.

Carolina closes the regular season on the road at Elon Tuesday and at Clemson Friday.
