Brian Shriver scored the game-winner against No. 1 ranked Wake Forest and Brooks Haggerty stopped 11 saves in two games in the NCAA Men's Soccer College Cup and are the Progress Energy Tar Heel Performers of the Week for December 8-14, 2008.

Haggerty, a junior from Cary, made a career-best seven saves - several of the spectacular variety - as the Tar Heels shut out Wake Forest, the nation's top offense, 1-0. He finished with a 0.59 goals against average and 21 saves in the NCAA Tournament to earn a spot on the College Cup All-Tournament Team.

Shriver, a senior from Clearwater, Fla., joined Haggerty with all-tourney honors after scoring the game-winner in the semis against Wake. Shriver scored on an 8-yard header in the fourth minute to lead UNC past the Demon Deacons. Shriver, who finished with four points on a goal and two assists in the postseason, notched 14 goals and 33 points this season for the highest scoring output by a Tar Heel since 2002.
