    Two Tar Heels Named To All-ACC Team

    Hernandez and Boyajian tapped for all-league honors.

    2011-12 National Preseason Ranking: Singles (No. 38), Doubles (No. 6)

    2012 Preseason Highlights: 2012 tri-captain...preaseason ITA singles ranking No. 38...paired up with Jose Hernandez to take top honors at UVA 4+1 invite by defeating Stefan/Wyss of Maryland (8-4)...advanced to ITA Carolinas Regional final with partner Joey Burkhardt before falling to Cunha/Mengel (9-8) from Duke.

    Junior Season (2010-2011) Recap: Ended season with 21-14 singles mark, playing primarily at No. 2 singles where he was 10-6...posted 9-3 record in ACC singles competition and was named an All-ACC performer...finished season ranked No. 33 in doubles...won National Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. with partner Jose Hernandez...posted dual match victories over No. 6 Pieters/Garrapz from Georgia and No. 14 King/Spir from Georgia Tech...awarded the final ACC Player of the Week honor in mid-April following an impressive sweep--Boyajian efficiently dismissed Duke's No. 9 Reid Carleton 6-1, 6-1, rolled past Miami's No. 25 Keith Crowley to secure another UNC team victory, and edged Florida State's No. 108 Clint Bowles to round out the week...awarded ITA Regional Player to Watch in 2011 honor...in 2010 preseason, reached the Main Draw of the D'Novo All-American Championships after winning three consecutive qualifying matches.

    Sophomore Season (2009-10) Recap: A consistent starter in singles, splitting time for the second year in a row between No. 3 and 4 singles...best win was an upset of Virginia's Jarmere Jenkins, ranked No. 39 nationally, 7-6(5), 6-4...also notched wins against ACC opponents Wake Forest and Georgia Tech...helped the Heels reach the NCAA Round of 32 with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Nebraska's Francois Van Impe. Finished the season ranked No. 90 nationally.

    Freshman Season (2008-09) Recap: Immediately broke into the Tar Heels' singles lineup as a freshman, splitting time between the No. 3 and 4 flights...posted the third-best singles win percentage on the team (.613)...won 19 singles and 13 doubles matches..defeated Jonathan Dahan 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 to clinch a 4-3 win over No. 25 Cal.

    Prep Highlights: Ranked as high as sixth in the nation in 2008 by tennisrecruting.net, and finished his prep career ranked third in Florida and fourth in the Southeast...tennisrecruiting.net also touted him as a blue-chip recruit...named Florida player of the year in 2006, when he went undefeated in both tournament and high school play...won three individual singles titles and one team state title at Cypress Bay, where he was captain and MVP his sophomore through senior years...was Broward County's player of the year four times in a row...won the Florida state tournament in every age group from 10s through 18s, and was ranked first in Florida in all of those age groups...won three Super National tournaments in 2006: Kalamazoo, Clay Court and Easter Bowl...played in the 2006 Junior U.S. Open...won the 2008 Spring Super Nationals...won the 2008 National Open...was a member of the Florida Davis Cup team in 2007 and 2008...was a doubles semifinalist in the 2007 and 2008 Clay Court championships.
