2007-08: Posted a team-best 32-8 record as the Tar Heels' starter at heavyweight • Won the ACC title to claim a berth at the 2008 NCAA Championships • Rated the nation's No. 15 at heavyweight in the pre-NCAA InterMat rankings • Recorded a 15-1 record in dual action and went 5-0 against the ACC in duals • Led UNC with a career-best seven pins and also added seven major decisions • Claimed first ACC title with a 4-3 win over Virginia Tech's David Marone in the final • Went 3-2 at nationals with both losses coming to top-10 opponents • Also placed third at the Michigan State Open and seventh at the Southern Scuffle • Pinned No. 8-ranked Jon May of Nebraska in 2:21 at the Cliff Keen Invitational • Recorded a 10-match winning streak during the season • Member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2006-07: Redshirt season • Wrestled at the Southern Scuffle and went 1-2 with a pin.
2005-06: Compiled a 30-15 mark as Carolina's starter at 184 pounds • Was 14-8 in duals and 5-1 against the ACC • Recorded two pins and two major decision victories • Finished third at the ACC Championships with wins over Mark Czarny of Virginia Tech (6-1) and Duke's Dan Fox (5-2) after an opening round loss • Was also third at the Nittany Lion Open.
2004-05: The Tar Heels' starter at 184 pounds • Tallied an overall record of 17-20, including a 4-2 record against ACC competition • Recorded four wins by fall and three wins by major decision • Placed fourth at the Missouri Open at 184 pounds in the Freshman/Sophomore Division.
Prep: Four-year letterwinner at Garfield Heights in Ohio • State finalist as a senior and finished in fourth place as a junior • Earned all-league honors in wrestling, football and baseball and served as team captain for all three sports • Member of National Honor Society and an Honor Roll student.
