    Brittany Rountree scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half and No. 24 North Carolina overcome a sloppy effort and beat Virginia Tech 56-37 on Thursday night, ending a three-game losing streak.

    Energetic defender who provided a spark off the bench with her hustle and enthusiasm • Appeared in 31 games, averaging 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest • Scored four points in her debut against North Florida • Finished with a career-high eight points in 19 minutes and made her first career three-pointer against Coastal Carolina on Nov. 19 • Appeared in all three games of the Rainbow Wahine Showdown and scored four points against Washington State in the quarterfinals • Played five minutes and made a 3 against Iowa on Dec. 2 • Played a season-high 22 minutes and scored four points in the win over College of Charleston on Dec. 28 • Appeared in 11 Atlantic Coast Conference games and scored four points • Played 17 minutes and finished with three points against Kennesaw State on March 13 • Saw time against both Fresno State and Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament.
