    CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina (20-3, 5-2 ACC) ends a four-game homestand against archrival Duke Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Smith Center. Carolina is coming off a 93-77 win over Virginia Tech on Thursday. Duke is coming off a 81-67 win at Virginia on Thursday. Carolina is ranked No. 8 in the AP poll and No. 9 in the coaches' poll. Duke is ranked No. 4 in the AP poll and No. 8 in the coaches' poll.

    DUKE SERIES NOTES
    • North Carolina is 44-30 all-time against Duke, including a 23-9 mark in Chapel Hill.
    • Carolina swept the season series in 2008, winning 93-76 in Durham, 82-51 in Chapel Hill and 86-73 in Greensboro in the ACC title game.
    • The 82-51 win in last year's regular season finale was Carolina's biggest win over Duke since a 93-59 victory in 1982.
    • In each of the last eight seasons, the team that has won the first meeting has swept the season series. The Blue Devils swept the Tar Heels in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007, while UNC had the upper hand in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
    • Carolina has won eight of 10 in the series since losing 12 in a row from 2000-04.

    NOTING THE BLUE DEVILS
    • Duke is 19-2 on the season (7-1 in the ACC) following an 81-67 win at Virginia on Thursday.
    • Senior forward/center Chante Black leads the Blue Devils in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest. No other Duke player is scoring in double figures.

    TAR HEELS TOUGH TO BEAT AT HOME
    Carolina's overall home record since the beginning of the 2004-05 season is 80-3. The Tar Heels have won 34 of 35 in Chapel Hill, including their last 13 home conference games. In addition, UNC has won 77 of its last 78 non-conference home games.

    CAROLINA IN THE SMITH CENTER
    • UNC will play all of its home games at the Dean E. Smith Center in 2008-09 while Carmichael Auditorium is renovated.
    • The Tar Heels are 32-10 all-time at the Smith Center and have won 20 of 21 in the building.
    • Carolina and Duke have met three times in the Smith Center, with UNC winning in 1988 and 2005 and Duke winning in 2004.

    • Carolina has won three straight after dropping three in a row from Jan. 19-25.
    • Duke has won two in a row and 17 of its last 18.
