CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina (24-4, 9-3 ACC) will honor the career of eight senior players, managers and staff members Thursday when the Tar Heels host Miami for a Senior Night matchup at 7 p.m. at the Smith Center. UNC has won seven of eight and is coming off a convincing 74-57 win at NC State on Monday. Miami is coming off a near-upset of Florida State, as the Hurricanes fell to the league-leaders, 59-58, on Sunday. Carolina is ranked No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 10 in the coaches' poll. Miami is unranked.

MIAMI SERIES NOTES
North Carolina is 8-2 all-time against Miami, including a 2-1 mark in Chapel Hill.
Carolina won the only matchup in 2008, a 79-61 decision in Coral Gables.
The Tar Heels have won five straight in the series, with each game coming since Miami joined the ACC.
Miami's last win in the series was an 86-72 NCAA Tournament victory in 1992.
NOTING THE HURRICANES
Miami is 13-14 on the season (2-10 in the ACC) following a 59-58 loss at Florida State on Sunday.
Freshman guard Shenise Johnson leads Miami in both scoring and rebound, tallying 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.
STREAKS
Carolina has won seven of eight since dropping three straight from Jan. 19-25.
UNC has won 15 consecutive home conference games and will look to close out its second straight perfect home ACC run with a win Thursday.
Miami has lost three straight and six of eight.
TAR HEELS TOUGH TO BEAT AT HOME
Carolina's overall home record since the beginning of the 2004-05 season is 82-3. The Tar Heels have won 36 of 37 in Chapel Hill, including their last 15 home conference games. In addition, UNC has won 77 of its last 78 non-conference home games.
CAROLINA IN THE SMITH CENTER
UNC will play all of its home games at the Dean E. Smith Center in 2008-09 while Carmichael Auditorium is renovated.
The Tar Heels are 34-10 all-time at the Smith Center and have won 22 of 23 in the building.
