GREENSBORO, N.C. --- North Carolina placed senior Rashanda McCants, junior Jessica Breland and sophomore Cetera DeGraffenreid on the three All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams, the league office announced Monday. McCants and Breland were named to the second team, while DeGraffenreid was named to the third team. Maryland's Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver, Virginia's Monica Wright and Lyndra Littles and Duke's Chante Black made up the first team.

McCants, a repeat member of the second team, is averaging 14.8 points and 6.6 rebounds during her senior season. The Asheville, N.C., product is fifth in the ACC in scoring in conference games with 17.6 points per contest and recently became the 18th player in UNC history to reach 1,500 career points.

Breland, who has had a breakout junior campaign in her first season as a starter, averaged 13.3 points and 8.4 rebounds and led the ACC in blocked shots during the regular season. One of the league's top defensive players, the Kelford, N.C., native has recorded 94 blocks so far in 2008-09, sixth-best in the NCAA and already the 10th-most in single-season school history.

DeGraffenreid, a unanimous choice on the all-freshman team a year ago, has led the nation's second-highest scoring offense from her point guard position with an ACC-best 1.6 assist-turnover ratio. The Cullowhee, N.C., sophomore has averaged 12.2 points and 4.2 assists in leading the Tar Heels to an average of 83.5 points per contest, second only to No. 1 Connecticut.

UNC will begin play in the ACC Tournament Friday at 11 a.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum. The fourth-seeded Tar Heels will face the winner of fifth-seeded Georgia Tech and 12th-seeded Clemson.
