second-round NCAA game against Iowa - Scored a goal against Virginia
Commonwealth on Oct. 15 - During the summer of '99, played in the United
Airlines summer field hockey league - Also trained with the U.S. Under-20
team in Chapel Hill in June
1998: A redshirt during her first season at UNC - Member of 1998 U.S.
under-19 team that competed in the Montreal Cup July 1-5, 1998 - That team
also competed in the National Indoor Tournament and the California Cup -
Participated in USFHA Elite Summer League
At Oak Park & River Forest High School: Illinois Player of the Year as a
senior - MVP and tri-captain of the team that finished second in the state
in 1997 - State All-Academic team - Named the state's Offensive Player of
the Year as a junior and senior - High school All-America pick in 1997 and
'98 - Also participated in A and B camp and the National Field Hockey
Festival - As a junior, played on the state championship team and led
Illinois in goals and assists - Played on the U.S. Under-18 and Under-16
teams - Most Improved Player award as a sophomore, when her team finished
second in the state - Played four years of basketball and three years of
softball - Also competed in track as a senior, finishing seventh in the
state in the 4x800 relay - All-state in track and field - School's Athlete
of the Year as a senior
Personal: Born June 23, 1980, in Oak Park, Ill. - Daughter of Patricia and
John Duffy - The fourth of six siblings - Her brothers and sisters are Sarah
(27), Nathan (25), Katie (23), Timmy (16) and Emmet (10) - Katie played
field hockey at New Hampshire - Her father, John, played football and hockey
at Northern Illinois
