Five Tar Heels, including two who will be seniors on the 2010 North Carolina field hockey team, are part of the 18-player roster selected to represent the U.S. in matches against Spain and England July 26 through Aug. 6.

Katelyn Falgowski and Jackie Kintzer, both first-team All-America selections in 2009 and set to be seniors on the 2010 Carolina squad, were named to the team, along with UNC alums Rachel Dawson, Jesse Gey and Amy Tran. U.S. team captain Carrie Lingo, also a Tar Heel graduate, will not make the trip, due to injury.

Tran and Kintzer are the goalkeepers on the roster.

The U.S. National Team will take on Spain in Valencia on July 26, 27, 29 and 30 then travel to play three matches against host England on Aug. 2, 5 and 6. The Americans also will tour the London 2012 facilities, including the Hockey Centre in Olympic Park.

The U.S. team's matches against Spain will be available for viewing live on the web. For information on the broadcasts, click here.
