    Tar Heels on the U.S. National Team returned recently from a trip to Australia and New Zealand. In addition to representing the red, white and blue on the field, they helped to chronicle the experience.

    Three Tar Heels were part of the U.S. Under-21 Junior National Team that played four matches against England's U21 team April 3-7 in Shropshire, England. The teams faced off at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

    Tar Heels Learning From Spring Action

    The UNC field hockey team has added a matchup with Duke on April 13 to its spring schedule, but will not travel to face Old Dominion this Sunday. The Tar Heels, who played ODU, Michigan, Davidson, Virginia, William & Mary and the host Blue Devils in a two-day event at Duke earlier this spring, have three dates remaining in the spring season.

    Five Tar Heels Named To National Academic Squad

    Five North Carolina field hockey players have been named to the Division I National Academic Squad, as announced Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Tollie Bell, Meghan Drake, Meghan Lyons, Marta Malmberg and Loren Shealy all earned the honor, which requires a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better through the fall 2011 semester.
