    Three Named To All-ACC Academic Team

    Three North Carolina field hockey players have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, announced by the league on Wednesday. Seniors Teryn Brill and Taryn Gjurich and sophomore Marta Malmberg earned the honor, which is based on athletic and academic success and requires a minimum 3.0 grade point average. All were recognized for the second year in a row.

    Kolojejchick Checks In From National Team Camp

    North Carolina's Kelsey Kolojejchick, a rising senior on the Tar Heel field hockey team, is taking the spring semester away from UNC to train with the U.S. Field Hockey National Team in San Diego. A three-time All-America at UNC, she has been selected as part of the squad that will represent the U.S. at a four nations tournament in Spain later this month.     After a decade as a member of the U.S. National Team and a career that included 190 international matches, North Carolina graduate Carrie Lingo has announced her retirement from competition. "Carrie was one of our all-time best," said UNC coach Karen Shelton, who coached Lingo from 1997 to 2001. "Not only was she a exceptional student-athlete while at Carolina, she is an extraordinary human being. Her positivity, work ethic and great attitude have always set her apart."
