    Assistant Coach


    Jessica Wood is in her fourth year as an assistant coach for the Tar Heels. Her duties include assisting Coach Sally Austin coach and teach the women's golf team.

    Prior to joining Carolina's staff, Wood was an assistant coach at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. for two years. She also competed professionally in the Future's Tour ('94-'95), the Central Florida Challenge Tour ('94) and the Sunshine Tour ('95).

    Wood is a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina and a starter on the golf team. She won two individual tournament titles during her collegiate career. Both came during her sophomore year (1990-91) when she won back-to-back tourneys, the Lady Seminole Invitational and the Duke Fall Invitational. She helped North Carolina win the ACC Championship in 1991 and 1992, and as a senior she was selected to the '93 All-ACC team.

    Wood, a Buies Creek native, received her MA in Community Counseling at Campbell University in 1999. She works in the pro shop at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill.
