Inside Lacrosse Names Falcone First-Team All-America

June 4, 2008

CHAPEL HILL - University of North Carolina Amber Falcone has earned first-team All-America honors from Inside Lacrosse, the magazine announced this week. The junior defender now has picked up All-America honors from four organizations, including first-team honors from Inside Lacrosse, WomensLax.com and WomensLacrosse.com and second-team recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

A third-team All-America as a freshman in 2006 and a second-team honoree as a sophomore in 2007, Falcone is one of five three-time All-Americas in Carolina history, joining Brooke Crawford (1997-99), Kellie Thompson (2000-02), Porter Wilkinson (2000-02) and Jenn Cook (2005-07).

Should Falcone earn All-America distinction again as a senior in 2009, she will become the first four-time All-America in Carolina history.

Other Atlantic Coast Conference players on the Inside Lacrosse first-team are Claire Bordley of Virginia, Carolyn Davis of Duke, Dana Dobbie of Maryland, Kelly Kasper of Maryland and Aiyana Newton of Duke. Dobbie is the magazine's Midfielder of the Year and Duke freshman Emma Hamm is the Inside Lacrosse Rookie of the Year.
