2011 alumna of Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada, Calif. played soccer there for four years as a center forward and outside midfielder competed in track and field for four years (high jump, 300-meter hurdles, 400 meters and relays) and ran cross country for one year her senior year she averaged 70 minutes a game, scoring a school record 28 goals and adding 11 assists for 65 points as team won second straight prep league title as a junior she was limited to 11 games because of other commitments and scored 12 goals and had 8 assists, averaging 72 minutes, and leading team to its first prep league title on the pitch she was first-team All-League her sophomore through senior seasons while being named league MVP her junior and senior years first-team All-Area in selection her final two seasons All-CIF first-team DIII as a senior high school's female athlete of the year three successive years named Glendale News Press top female high school athlete in 2011 soccer team MVP her sophomore through senior years two-year captain of the soccer squad four-time individual event league champion in track.

Brooke Kazuko Elby was born May 24, 1993 in Pasadena, Calif. is the daughter of Karen Elby and Mark Elby has not yet declared a major won Flintridge Prep Community Service Award in 2009 logged more than 700 hours of community service other activities included Girl Scouts, Science Fair and various high school clubs was named a spring 2011 Sealbearer by California Scholarship Federation has an older sister studying athletic training in college.

Section #1: Soccer
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel soccer player is creating lifelong friendships while being a part of the best
women's college soccer program.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Dorrance is all the new things he will teach me to help mold me into a
stronger and more skilled player. He will encourage me to be the best that I can be both on and off the field.
3. Since last year the aspects of my training I've worked on the most are my first touch and match endurance.
4. My best friend on another college soccer team is Alina Okamoto at Tufts University.
5. My greatest strengths as a soccer player are my speed and tenacity.
Section #2: Interests
1. Away from the soccer field and academic pursuits I like to spend time relaxing on the beach and tanning.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is No Strings Attached.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be track.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is a Glee Concert.

1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a buffet spread at McCaskill that included fried rice, Mac `N Cheese and In-N-Out burgers (Southern California's best burger).
2. My favorite beverage is chocolate milk.

4. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
