Meghan Klingenberg scored the game-winner and had an assist as the top-ranked women's soccer team beat eighth-ranked Texas A&M, earning the first Progress Energy Performer of the Week honors for the 2010-11 academic year.

Klingenberg scored the game-winning goal and had an assist on an insurance goal in the second half as the No. 1-ranked Tar Heels opened the season with a 3-0 win over eighth-ranked Texas A&M at Aggie Soccer Stadium in College Station, Texas last Friday. Klingenberg scored on a 30-yard strike at 2:09 of the match to give the Tar Heels the lead for good at 1-0. She then assisted on Amber Brooks' goal in the early stages of the second half to give the Tar Heels a 3-0 lead. UNC also beat Michigan State 3-0 Sunday and will carry a 2-0 record into Friday's home match versus No. 2 Stanford.
