    U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage has named 28 players for a training camp prior to the team's first domestic match of the year against New Zealand Feb. 11 at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas, where more than 14,000 tickets have already been sold. Six former Tar Heel players have been called into the training camp by the U.S. head coach. This group includes goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, defender Whitney Engen and midfielders Yael Averbuch, Tobin Heath, Meghan Klingenberg and Heather O'Reilly.

    The U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team will travel to La Manga, Spain, from Feb. 3-15 for the Four Nations Tournament that also features Switzerland, Germany and Norway. Four current and future Tar Heels have been named to the 20-person squad. UNC sophomores Crystal Dunn, a defender from Rockville Centre, N.Y. and sophomore forward Kealia Ohai from Draper, Utah were named to the 20-person roster by U.S. head coach Steve Swanson.

    The University of North Carolina will announce the details of its 2012 recruiting class at a time to be determined later this spring. While Wednesday, February 1, 2012 is the official starting date for high school student-athletes to sign their national letters of intent for women's soccer, as is tradition with the UNC program Carolina will not announced its class until it is complete.

    North Carolina student-athletes who are 2011-12 recipients of two prestigious honors - Athletic Director's Scholar-Athletes and Tar Heel Leaders of Distinction - were recognized Thursday during halftime of the UNC men's basketball team's win over visiting NC State at the Dean E. Smith Center.

    UNC Announces Spring Exhibition Schedule

    The University of North Carolina women's soccer team will play four spring exhibition matches to conclude its off season training package this semester. Three of the matches will be played at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
