CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Tarheelblue.com presents its fifth installment of freshmen softball interviews in an attempt to know the freshman. Freshman Haleigh Dickey is a 5'11" third baseman out of Woodstock, Ga. Dickey is a three-time member of all-state squad for Etowah High School, from her sophomore to senior year. Dickey will add depth on the corners and at the plate in 2010 for the Tar Heels.
Dickey was also three-time all-county in the discus and a four-year letterwinner in basketball at Etowah High School. The Woodstock, Ga. product suggests if she could play another sport at Carolina it would be basketball. Dickey takes a hybrid stance on which teammate is the funniest, believing it is a two-way tie between Brittany Robinson and Constance Orr. The previous freshman either selected Robinson or Orr as the funniest. It is no surprise Dickey chooses fellow Georgia native Kelli Wheeler to join her on the Amazing Race.
