    Kelli Wheeler, Ally Blake and Logan Foulks led off the game with back-to-back-to-back solo home runs as North Carolina cruised to a 10-0 win over Chattanooga. In the second game of the day, Sara Buchholz and Lori Spingola combined in the circle to scatter four hits and surrender one run in six innings of work to lead Carolina to a 3-1 win over Ohio State. The Tar Heels improve to 4-0 on the season.

    Sophomore Lori Spingola struck out 13 batters to propel North Carolina to a season-opening 3-0 shutout of North Florida in the National Invitational Tournament. Ally Blake and Kelli Wheeler combined for five hits and four RBI and Sara Buchholz pitched four and two-thirds innings in UNC's 8-3 game-two win over Florida Atlantic.

    North Carolina will trek southward to open the 2012 season in the National Collegiate Softball Invitational at the NTC from Clermont, Fla., against North Florida Friday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. and Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. The Tar Heels will be playing four games in two days, also challenging Ohio State Saturday, at 11 a.m. and Chattanooga at 1 p.m.

    The University of North Carolina softball program has announced changes to its February Clinic schedule. The February clinics have been moved to Wednesdays from 6:45-7:45 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. Please stay tuned to TarHeelBlue.com for more updates.

    Kelsey Green drove in three runs to lead the White over the Blue, 11-4, Saturday afternoon at Anderson Stadium. The intra-squad scrimmage served as the final tune up before the Tar Heels open up the 2012 campaign Friday, Feb. 10, against North Florida.
