Preseason: Compiled a 4-3 singles record in fall play... advanced to round of 16 in ITA Southeast Regionals in doubles with partner Julie Rotondi... finished 3-2 in doubles play with Julie and Caroline Hill.
Junior Year: Compiled a 23-13 singles record in her best season at Carolina... finished with a 6-3 ACC record and 11-5 tournament record... finished 6-4 at the No. 4 spot in dual matches.
Sophomore Year: Had a 6-5 overall singles record at the No. 5 and 6 spots... compiled a 4-2 record at No. 6, including a 3-4 record in the ACC... overall doubles record was 3-4... played doubles with Caroline Hill, Marlene Mejia, Erin Niebling and Kate Pinchbeck... defeated Arkansas' Julie Boyadjieva 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 6 slot during NCAA Tournament play... overcame a wrist injury.
1998-99: Was redshirted after transferring from Davidson College following her freshman year... enrolled at Carolina in January 1999... compiled a 3-3 singles record... went 1-0 at No. 2 singles and 1-1 at No. 3 singles... saw action at the ACC Indoor Championships... competed in dual matches against UNC Greensboro, Richmond, Kentucky and Illinois.
Freshman Year: Competed at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Davidson College Wildcats.
Prep: A 1997 graduate of Kings Mountain High School... ran track there for two years...was the most valuable player for running events at the Shelby Invite in 1997... was voted the most valuable track athlete in 1997... was All-Conference both years in 400-meter relay, 800 meters, 1600 meters and 1600-meter relay... maintained a 4.0 GPA in high school all four years.
Personal: Given name is Kristin Elisabeth Koenig... one of the best athletes on the team... has two sisters... daughter of Richard and Karen Koenig... her father attended Colgate University on a wrestling scholarship.
