GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Sanaz Marand has been tabbed Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after going undefeated in both singles and doubles action, as the 13th-ranked Tar Heels secured a pair of shutout victories in league play over the weekend.

Ranked as the nation's No. 10 singles player, Marand notched straight set victories against Maryland's Karin Lundmark 6-0, 6-4 last Saturday and followed up the next day with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Lana Krasnopolsky to end the match and give the Tar Heels the shut out over No. 74 Boston College.

The sophomore from Katy, Texas, also won both doubles matches at the No. 1 spot last weekend. Marand and teammate Katrina Tsang cruised to an 8-1 win versus Maryland's Michel Amir and Lisa Miller. Marand later paired up with Sophie Grabinski as the nation's No. 6 doubles tandem and posted an 8-3 triumph over Boston College's Lauren Cash and Dasha Cherkasov.

Three matches are on the slate for the Tar Heels this week, as they travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to face East Carolina, Princeton and Illinois.
