    No. 8 Tar Heels Top No. 13 Georgia Tech, 4-2

    No. 8 North Carolina closed out its run at the 2012 ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 4-2 win over Atlantic Coast Conference foe No. 13 Georgia Tech early Monday morning at the Boar's Head Sports Club. With play backed up several hours due to previous matches, the Tar Heels were forced to play deep into the night, not clinching the victory over the Yellow Jackets until after midnight.

    No. 8 North Carolina raced out to a 3-0 lead but was unable to hold off No. 5 Baylor in a 4-3 consolation round loss Saturday night in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships at the Boar's Head Sports Club. Carolina won the doubles point and got singles victories from Tessa Lyons and Gina Suarez-Malaguti, but the Lady Bears closed with four straight wins to take the dual.

    No. 8 North Carolina fell to No. 16 Southern California, 4-2, in the opening round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Friday afternoon at the Boar's Head Sports Club. Carolina won the doubles point but fell behind 3-1 early in singles and was unable to complete a furious rally.

    The No. 8-ranked North Carolina women's tennis team travels to the Boar's Head Club in Charlottesville, Va., this weekend to participate in the 2012 ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The Tar Heels, who earned a spot in the event by beating Marshall and Brown at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Chapel Hill, are the No. 6 seed in the event and will face No. 16 Southern California on Friday at 3 p.m.

    No. 8 North Carolina dropped a thriller to No. 12 Northwestern Friday, falling 4-3 at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Tar Heel Shinann Featherston tied the score at 3 before Kate Turvy outlasted Lauren McHale on court one to give the match to the Wildcats.
