No. 3-seeded Shinann Featherston and Lauren McHale fell to Tennessee's Natalie Pluskota and Kata Szekely, 7-6 (2), 6-3, Thursday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia. The two-time All-America duo ends the 2012 season with a record of 21-6.

North Carolina juniors Lauren McHale and Zoe De Bruycker were eliminated from the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championship Wednesday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia. McHale fell to Baylor's Nina Secerbegovic, 6-3, 6-2, while De Bruycker dropped a three-setter to Baylor's Sona Novakova, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

North Carolina's Shinann Featherston, a senior on the women's tennis team, has earned Capital One Academic All-District honors, as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

North Carolina juniors Zoe De Bruycker and Lauren McHale will begin play in the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championship Wednesday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia. McHale and senior teammate Shinann Featherston will then begin doubles play on Thursday.

No. 7 North Carolina got singles wins from Tessa Lyons and Caroline Price but fell to tenth-seeded Miami, 4-2, in the NCAA round of 16 early Friday morning at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia. Carolina ends its dual match season with a record of 24-7.
