MARIBOR, Slovenia - Hello fellow Tar Heel divas! We are reporting "semi-live" from inside the bus in Slovenia. Our day started off in Vienna, Austria where we realized that there would be no need to wear our dresses that we had laid out the night before. Total bummer. Today was a travel day, which included sneakers, shorts, and t-shirts along with our piggy neck pillows for napping on the bus. The ride through Austria was totally fabulous. The view consisted of snow capped mountains, hills and valleys, and a bunch of quaint villages. The view of these images inspired the Carolina Lady Tar Heels to break out their own version of the Sound of Music soundtrack. It started with, "The hills are aliveeeeeeeee........."

A few hours later and after listening to snoring Steph Jansma, sleep with her mouth wide open we arrived in Slovenia. It was lunchtime! The restaurant we ate at was outside underneath a canopy of vines. Our four-course lunch consisted of authentic Slovenian cuisine. The tables were decorated with flowers and a certain Carolina player started sneezing continuously as a result of sticking the flower up her nose for a "cool picture." She also forgot to mention she was extremely allergic to pollen. Thank the lord for Sally Mays and Dr. Waicus.

Before you knew it, game time arrived and we were preparing to play the Slovenian Junior National team. We were pumped to hear our jams playing throughout the gym. Travis Filar broke out some of his famous dance moves for the Slovenians and they couldn't keep up with him. Prior to the match the announcer played both of the teams national anthems and there was a t-shirt exchange, which we were super stoked about because we love new outfits! Around 6 p.m. Slovenian time the game began. We fell down a game but were quick to bounce back and win the next three. Baller!

After the match, both teams grouped together and celebrated by going to eat several different types of pizza together. There was a choice of two pizzas. You could eat a mushroom, ham, and olive pizza or an egg, bacon, and cheese pizza. We were able to communicate extremely well with certain individuals from the other team. Some knew little English or none at all. Everyone got along great, which made the dinner super fab!

And we're out from somewhere between Murska Sobota and Maribor on the bus. Love forever and always,

The fabulous divas: Courtney Johnston and Camryn Kleinert.
