    2012 Carolina Volleyball Camp registration is now open. Head coach Joe Sagula announced Carolina will host skills, specialized and team camps this summer in all air-conditioned facilities on campus in Carmichael Arena, Eddie Smith Field House and Fetzer Gym, beginning in July.     UNC Honors Standout Student-Athletes

    North Carolina student-athletes who are 2011-12 recipients of two prestigious honors - Athletic Director's Scholar-Athletes and Tar Heel Leaders of Distinction - were recognized Thursday during halftime of the UNC men's basketball team's win over visiting NC State at the Dean E. Smith Center.

    The 2011 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award winner, as well as first and second team selections were announced Thursday prior to the semifinal rounds of the NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship in San Antonio, Texas. Kaylie Gibson was named a first team selection after leading North Carolina to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

    Senior Kaylie Gibson, junior Emily McGee and redshirt freshman Chaniel Nelson were named All-America honorable mention selections by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday. The trio marks the seventh, eighth and ninth AVCA All-America selections in Carolina volleyball history, joining Laura Greene (3rd, 2002), Molly Pyles (HM, 2004), Dani Nyenhuis (HM, 2005), Heather Brooks (HM, 2008), Brianna Eskola (HM, 2008) and Kaylie Gibson (HM, 2010).
