    The University of North Carolina volleyball program reeled in the No. 8 recruiting class in the country according to PrepVolleyball.com. The Tar Heels signed seven student-athletes for the class of 2016, all of whom arrive with multiple individual accolades as well as PrepVolleyball.com Senior Ace honors. This marks UNC's third top-30 class since PrepVolleyball began ranking classes in 2003 and the highest rated class in Carolina history.

    The State University of New York at New Paltz Department of Athletics, Wellness and & Recreation has announced the New Paltz Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2012, which will be inducted this upcoming fall. Headlining the class individually are Joe Sagula, Jone Bowe '87 (men's basketball), Joanna Masterson '06 (women's swimming) and Bill Odeneal. In addition, the 1984, 1985 and 1986 men's volleyball teams will be inducted in the Hall of Fame.

    North Carolina hosted its Spring Tournament and Alumni Weekend Saturday, March 24, as well as its annual awards banquet Sunday, March 25. The Tar Heels swept all four opponents they faced, while also going 2-1 against the Alumni group.

    The University of North Carolina volleyball program hosted its annual awards banquet at the Loudermilk Center For Excellence Sunday, March 25, celebrating the 2011-2012 season. The banquet featured team awards presentations, senior speeches, a 2011 highlight video and alumni guest speaker, Donna Gutterman, class of '78.

    North Carolina will host Charlotte, Georgia, Duke, UNC Wilmington and James Madison in spring exhibition action Saturday, March 24, at Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels open play at 9 a.m. and will play four contests. Each match will consist of two 25-point games.
